Paraguayan swimming team at 2010 South American Championships
Paraguay's national swimming team has been convened for the South American Championships. As a whole, 18 swimmers will compete at the event to be held on March 25-29, 2010, in Medellin, Colombia.
Swimmers: José Lobo, Raúl Pereira, Ricardo Gregor, Julio Gómez, Genaro Prono, Hugo Riera, Renato Prono, Favio Persano, Carlos Orihuela, Benjamin Hockin, Charles Hockin, Lujan Amarilla, Virginia Baez, Maria Lopez, Silvana Paniagua, Andrea Gregor, Tania Sapoznik, Laura Mongelós.
The athletes are training hard to achieve the best possible results.
Brazil’s swimming team up for Latin Cup and Russia’s synchro team visits Rio
Brazil’s national swimming team has been established for the Latin Cup championship: 24 swimmers will gather together to dispute the event on May 20-22, 2010, in Mar del Plata, Argentina. The swimmers are between 15 and 20 years of age. The Brazilian delegation includes the following athletes: Alessandra Marchioro, Ana Marcela Cunha, Bruna Rocha, Eduardo Duarte, Eduardo Spotti, Giuliana Gigliotti, Henrique Martins, Henrique Rodrigues, João de Lucca, Julia Gerotto, Julia Volkmann, Leonardo de Deus, Luana Wunderlich, Lucas Kanieski, Luiza Vieira, Marcelo Chierighini, Marcos Macedo, Mayara Nascimento, Rafael Murad, Raphael Rodrigues, Raphaela Cunha, Sarah Correa, Tathiane Quirino and Victor Rodrigues.
Swimming Canada announces new partnership with Intercontinental Hotels Group

Bovell III and John-Williams top athletes in Trinidad & Tobago
World Championship record breaker George Bovell III and Youth Olympic Games qualifier Kimberlee John-Williams won the Swimmer of the Year Male and Female respectively at the Annual Award Ceremony of the Amateur Swimming Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ASATT) held at Naparima Bowl on January 17, 2010.
New South Wales Institute of Sport launches International Diving Programme
World class divers Melissa Wu and Scott Robertson have joined the New South Wales Institute of Sport (NSWIS) as part of the newly established diving International Training Programme (ITP), led by NSWIS Diving Programme Head Coach Chava Sobrino, it was recently announced.
Wu, who claimed a silver medal in the women’s synchronised 10m platform at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and Beijing Olympian Robertson relocated from Queensland to join Olympic gold medallist Matthew Mitcham and dual Olympian Alexandra Croak at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre.

Birth and staleness force Aussie Sharks captain Whalan to have year-long break
Aussie Sharks men’s water polo captain Thomas Whalan is taking a year away from international competition. He and former international swim star wife Elka (nee Graham) are expecting their first baby and the 264-game veteran for the Sharks told his team-mates by email that his focus and motivation since the Rome FINA World Championships last July has not been 100 per cent.
2 major diving and open water swimming events to take place in Mexico this month
The Mexican Swimming Federation called on its divers to participate in the internal selection for the Grand Prix of Russia and Germany, and to join the team of divers to participate in the international selection for the Singapore Youth Olympic Games 2010.
The diving pool named after Mexican’s legend "Joaquin Capilla" will host the first two diving events of the season, scheduled from January 28-30, 2010.
Moreover, on January 23, 2010, in the beautiful port of Acapulco will be held the first open water competition of the season in Mexico; the 5K Ronald Johnson. The event will attract top swimmers who are preparing their way to the Central American and Caribbean Games, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.

The national swimming team for the South American Championship has been convened. As a whole, 28 swimmers are convened to dispute the event from the 25th to the 29th of March, in Medellin, Colombia.
Pinheiros won the last event of the 2009 season and Cesar Cielo broke the World Record in the men’s
The Esporte Clube Pinheiros won the last national competition of 2009, the Brazilian Sports Aquatic Confederation Open Championships (in 50m-pool). The club scored 975 points and dominated the swimming events. Minas TC finished the competition in second with 479 points, while Unisanta took third with 161.5 points. As a whole, one new World Record and three new national records were set and 29 clubs scored points in the event. The competition took place at the city of São Paulo, in the pool of Pinheiros club.
