FINA Diving Grand Prix
Each year, the FINA Diving Grand Prix invites divers from all parts of the world to compete during the February-June period in a circuit of maximum seven meets. It was created mainly for three reasons: 1) to provide the best divers with a high-level competition that can be contested on a more frequent basis; 2) to focus on the main places of the diving meetings and enhance their popularity; 3) to promote diving in order to make it a more media-friendly event.
Presently, the diving programme of the Grand Prix for men and women includes 3m springboard, 10m platform, 3m springboard synchro and 10m platform synchro.
The 2013 circuit will make the following stops: No1 in Madrid (ESP) from February 15-17, No2 in Rostock (GER) from February 22-24, No3 in Gatineau (CAN) from May 2-5, No4 in Fort Lauderdale (USA) from May 9-12, No5 in San Juan (PUR) from May 16-19, No6 in Kazan (RUS) from May 29-31, and No7 in Bolzano (ITA) from June 28-30.
DGP 2013, San Juan day 4: China pockets six titles
The Chinese synchro diving team of Qu Lin and Zhang Jun easily won the women's 3m springboard with a score of 292.80. China's Jie Lian and Huang Xiaohui had also won gold and silver in the women's 10m platform. Inge Jansen and Celine Van Duijn from the Netherlands won the silver medal and American divers Madison Witt and Eszter Pryor scored 271.80 points to win the bronze.

"This is a highly competitive event, with countries like China and Brazil as top performers. There were several competitors performing excellent dives here that increased the competitiveness of the meet," said Reyes after receiving his gold medal.
DGP 2013, San Juan day 2: Chinese divers top favourites ahead of finals
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Chinese divers easily advanced on Friday to the men's 3m springboard and women's 10m platform finals at the fifth meet of the FINA Diving Grand Prix 2013 taking place in San Juan, Puerto Rico from May 16-19.
Sun Zhiyi dominated the men's 3m springboard with 493.60 points, more than 44 points ahead of Brazil’s Cesar Castro, his closest challenger in the event. Zhiyi averaged 8.36 points in the event. Castro, a veteran of three Olympiads, said he is focusing on always improving his performance, but acknowledged the Chinese diving team has demonstrated to be "the strongest in the competition".
DGP 2013, San Juan day 1: nice start for Chinese, Canadian and Dutch divers
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Top qualifier China advance to the men’s 10m platform and women’s 3m springboard finals after finishing first in both events on the opening day of San Juan's Diving Grand Prix, organised from May 16-19.
Huo Liang (Group A) and Jiang Yang (Group B) finished 1-2 in the 10m platform with 526.75 and 489.75 points, respectively. Cristian Arayon (COL, 406.55 points) and Robert Paez (VEN, 404.15 points) from semi final A and Philippe Gagne (CAN, 389.00 points) and David Dinsmore (USA, 383.50 points) from semi final B also made it to the men's 10m platform final.
DGP 2013, Fort Lauderdale day 4: China completes sweep of gold
FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida – Troy Dumais (Ventura, Calif./Austin, Texas) won the silver medal on 3m Sunday as the fourth stop of the FINA Diving Grand Prix came to a close at the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex.
China completed the sweep, winning four more gold medals to walk away with victories on all eight events this week. He Chao won the men’s 3m gold and Jie Lian took the women’s platform title. Zhang Jun and Qu Lin paired for the women’s 3m synchro crown, and Huo Liang and Jian Yan teamed up to win the men’s 10m synchro title.
DGP 2013, Fort Lauderdale day 3: China's Zhang Jun and Yanquan Zhang take gold in 3m and 10m events
FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida – David Boudia (Noblesville, Ind.) won the silver medal on 10m Saturday at the FINA Diving Grand Prix, his first meet since winning gold at the 2012 Olympic Games.
China won all four gold medals awarded Saturday. Zhang Yanquan edged Boudia for the 10m gold, and Zhang Jun took gold in the women’s 3m contest. He Chao and Li Shixin paired for the men’s 3m synchro gold, with Jie Lian and Huang Xiaohui winning the women’s 10m synchro title.
DGP 2013, Fort Lauderdale day 2: Troy Dumais (USA) takes third ahead of 3m final
FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida - Murphy Bromberg (Bexley, Ohio) won her women’s platform semifinal to earn a spot in Sunday’s 10m finals and Olympic bronze medallist Troy Dumais (Ventura, Calif./Austin, Texas) secured a berth in the 3m finals with their performances Friday at the FINA Diving Grand Prix at the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex.
The 17-year-old Bromberg scored 341.30 points to win the women’s 10m semifinal B ahead of China’s Jie Lian (330.50) and Japan’s Fuka Tatsumi (300.45), who also advanced.
DGP 2013, Fort Lauderdale day 1: Olympic champion David Boudia (USA) advances to 10m final ranked third
FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida – The field in Saturday’s men’s 10m final at the FINA Diving Grand Prix will include three 2012 Olympic gold medallists as USA’s David Boudia, the individual gold medallist from London, and China’s Cao Yuan and Zhang Yanquan, who combined for the 10m platform synchro Olympic gold, all advanced out of Thursday’s semifinals.
Zhang was top qualifier with 529.65 in semifinal B, while Cao scored 504.10 points to win semifinal A. Joining the three gold medallists in the final will be Ukraine’s Oleksandr Bondar, Canada’s Maxim Bouchard and Colombia’s Juan Rios.
DGP 2013, Gatineau day 4: Meaghan Benfeito beats the Chinese for gold in 10m platform
GATINEAU, Quebec - Meaghan Benfeito of Montreal earned her second career international victory on Sunday finishing ahead of two Chinese divers for first place in the women’s 10m platform at the FINA Diving Grand Prix 2013.
Jennifer Abel of Laval, Que., and Pamela Ware of Beloeil, Que., added a silver in the women’s 3m springboard synchro. Canada ended the meet with five medals. On Saturday, Abel and Ware were 1-2 in the 3m springboard and Benfeito and Roseline Filion of Laval, Que., were second in the 10m platform synchro.

GATINEAU, Quebec – Jennifer Abel of Laval, Que., and Pamela Ware of Beloeil, Que., earned gold and silver in the 3m springboard synchro and Roseline Filion of Laval, Que., and Meaghan Benfeito of Montreal added a silver in the 10m platform synchro at the 2013 FINA Diving Grand Prix.
In the women’s 3m springboard, Abel produced a top-notch performance totalling 353.40 points averaging 8.0’s on four of her five dives in the final. Ware finished with two outstanding dives to take the silver at 341.15 and Dolores Hernandez of Mexico was third at 315.15.
