Doha 2014: FINA partners workshop bodes well for Championships
In preparation for the 12th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m), the Doha 2014 organising committee hosted a successful two-day Partners Workshop for the Official FINA partners to showcase the latest preparations ahead of the Championships on May 21-22, 2014.
During the workshop, the attendees were introduced to Qatar’s state-of the art swimming facilities at the Hamad Aquatic Centre, in Doha’s Sport City as well as being provided with a detailed update on all organisational aspects and the exceptional preparations being made by the organising committee.
In providing detailed plans and completing an official tour of the facilities, the organising committee assured the partners that as the countdown to the Championships continues, Qatar is undertaking all measures to ensure that an outstanding world-class event is delivered.
The global event expects to welcome thousands of swimming fans and hundreds of journalists, television and radio commentators. Qatar will once again be at the centre of the world’s sport stage with the country’s love for sport and commitment to swimming showcased to a global audience.
Partners Workshop in Doha
Speaking at the successful conclusion of the workshop, Khaleel Al Jabir, Qatar Swimming Association President and Doha 2014 Organising Committee Chief Executive Officer said: "This week, an important step has been taken towards the successful hosting of the 12th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) and we remain right on track with the support of our partners and sponsors to deliver an exceptional championship."

The international event will take place at the Hamad Aquatic Centre, a facility at the heart of Doha Sports City which has previously held the 2006 Asian Games and a leg of the FINA Swimming World Cup in 2012 and 2013.
