Doha 2014 - Swimwear

The swimwear used by the competitors at the 12th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) Doha 2014 must comply in full with FINA rule BL 8 and GR 5 and duly approved by FINA in accordance with the rules and procedures set forth in the FINA Requirements for Swimwear Approval

Before any swimwear of new design, construction or material is used in competition, the manufacturer of such swimwear must submit the swimwear to FINA and obtain approval of FINA (GR 5.4). The ocial list of FINA approved swimwear is published annually and available here.

In swimming competitions the competitor must wear only one swimsuit in one or two pieces. No additional items, like arm bands or leg bands shall be regarded as parts of a swimsuit (BL 8.2).

All commercial marking on the swimwear must comply in full with the FINA rule BL7.

The check of swimwear used by the competitors will be performed in the call room prior to start of each event.

The referee of a competition has the authority to exclude any competitor whose Swimwear does not comply with the FINA rules.
