Swimming Coaches Certification course attracts many in Singapore
145 Swimming coaches gathered to Singapore to attend a FINA Swimming Coaches Certification course from May 23-25, 2012. Miehe Horst from New Zealand, who is one of the most valuable swimming coaches in his country, was the lecturer for the course.
During the three-day course, Horst talked about the governing principals of coaching, the relevant science to the understanding of teaching swimming, the four swimming strokes, starts and turns, teaching skills and methods for coaches, among other topics.
At the end of the course, Horst said: "The overall standard of coaches on the course was exceptional – a high level of knowledge and understanding – none of the concepts seemed beyond the participants and they were involved in some active debate throughout the course."
"All questions were relevant and appropriate, a fantastic group", he added.
