In the spectacular scenario of the Albeniz Palace, the Mayor of Barcelona Xavier Trias received the FINA Bureau members on February 22 and transmitted them his conviction on a great competition next July, with the occasion of the 15th FINA World Championships.

“The city of Barcelona looks forward to receiving the best aquatic athletes of the world. These Championships is certainly a great investment for our city, but will bring long-lasting effects to Barcelona. I just recall the urban metamorphosis generated by the staging of the 1992 Olympic Games in the city”, considered Xavier Trias, who was accompanied by Maite Fandos, co-president of the Barcelona 2013 FINA World Championships Organising Committee and responsible for Sport in the City Municipality.
