Synchro and Open water clinics gather Officials from Central America and the Caribbean in Aruba
Two clinics took place at Oranjestad University in Aruba. The first brought together 15 synchronised swimming judges (intermediate to advanced) from June 23-26, 2012 with Mexican Cristina Villacana, former FINA TSSC Member, as lecturer.
The participants upgraded their skills while actively discussing figures judging, synchro rules and officiating at events.
Synchro clinic opening in Aruba
The second was a beginner-level open water swimming clinic for judges led by Cuban Tomas Haces, FINA TOWSC Member, from June 18-26. The clinic, which was the first of its kind on the island, was attended by 15 participants, most from Aruba but also Netherlands Antilles, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, Puerto Rico, El Salvador and Guatemala.
During the clinic, the aspiring judges were introduced to open water events, the responsibilities and ethics of Judges in these events, the rules, and the organisation and security in open water races.
