Busy 2012 schedule for Japan

Top Japanese swimmers Kosuke Kitajima, Takeshi Matsuda, Ryosuke Irie, Aya Terakawa, Shiho Sakai, Haruka Ueda are gearing up for the London Olympics with the goal to win five medals, including one gold at least.
 
They underwent a tough training camp during the Christmas holidays, getting in shape for the upcoming Olympic trial to be held at the Tokyo-Tatsumi International Swimming Center from April 2-8, 2012.

Not only swimmers but also divers, water polo players, open water and synchronised swimmers had hard training camps in November and December 2011.

The Japan Synchronised Swimming Trials 2012 will be held at the Tokyo-Tatsumi International Swimming Center on January 22.

The Asian Water Polo Championships 2012 will be held at the Shin-Narashino International Swimming Center in Chiba-ken, Japan from January 24-27. This event also serves as the FINA Qualification Tournament for the London Olympic Games. Japan is really keen to win the title of the Championships.

The Japan open water swimmers will compete at the Australian Open Water Swimming Championships in Perth, Australia from February 17-19.

Eight divers (four women and four men) will represent Japan at the FINA Diving World Cup in London from February 20-26. They will have to perform their very best to make the Olympic team.
