Points are awarded to all finalists, according to the following points’ distribution:

Individual (using 8 lanes):
Places 1-16: 18, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 point
Individual (using 10 lanes):
Places 1-20: 22, 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 point

Relays (using 8 lanes):
Places 1-8: 36, 32, 30, 28, 26, 24, 22, 20 points
Relays (using 10 lanes):
Places 1-10: 40, 36, 34, 32, 30, 28, 26, 24, 22, 20

A special FINA Trophy shall be awarded to the individual competitor, either male or female, scoring the highest points in the swimming events upon the following:
First Place: 5 points
Second Place: 3 points
Third Place: 2 points
Fourth Place: 1 point
Individual World Record: 2 points for each record broken

If there is a tie, performances will be compared with the World Records and a decision made by the Swimming Commission.
