A record 104 take part in Swimming Officials school in Hong Kong
The Asian edition of the 2011 FINA Swimming Officials Schools was successfully hosted by the Hong Kong Amateur Swimming Association on April 23-24, 2011 at the Hong Kong Olympic House. The School welcomed a total of 104 participants, among which 84 were local and 20 from seven other Federations (CHI, JPN, MAC, MGL, PER, SIN and THA). The lecturers were Carol Zaleski, FINA TSC Chairman, and Søren Korbo, FINA TSC Honorary Secretary.
The school was very efficiently organised by the host Federation. CD’s with the Power Point presentations were prepared by the FINA Office and were handed out to the participants at the end of the sessions. The presentations were very well received.
During the presentations many questions were put forward to the lecturers. The pool session was also very professionally organised. Six girls and six boys from the national team were on hand. Start lists and time cards were prepared. The participants were divided into two teams with the use of three digital watches per lane. The practice included 100m events, 50m events as well as a 4x50m medley relay.
The Hong Kong Amateur Swimming Association must be congratulated for their efficient way of organising the Asian edition of the FINA Swimming Officials school.
