The Aquatic Complex "Horacio Martinez", in Copacabana, Antioquia (COL), was chosen as the stage for the First South American Water Polo Championships (for both male and female U-17 category), to take place from April 5-10, 2011. The delegations of Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Trinidad & Tobago, Uruguay, Venezuela and Colombia will take part in the event.
The excellent conditions presented by the Aquatic Complex "Horacio Martinez", widely known in Colombia for the hosting of aquatic events and the experience gained since the last South American Games, allowed the town of Copacabana to be chosen as host of this new event.
