Fine performances produced at nationals in RDC

The third COD championships were successfully held on October 20-21, 2010, in the Lubumbashi Pronvince, Katanga (RDC). Mbombo Soleil Kayowa was the sensation of the day, setting a national record in the 100m freestyle in 55.18. She performed also well in the 50m freestyle, clocking 24.59.

The 29-year-old belongs to the "Petit poisson kilobo" club (Katanga) and swims with the national team Leopard RDC. Her swimming career has already taken her to Australia, South Africa, Tanzania and Azerbaijan.

In the men's, Dingao Olenga, 28, was crowned champion in the long-course event, winning the 50m and 100m freestyle in 22.30 and 48.32 respectively. He swims with the Tayita club in Kipushi and national team Leopard RDC. He has competed in Australia, Tanzania, South Africa and Kenya.
