Swimming festival takes place in Israel
At this period of time the swimmers are busy with hard training and less competing. The traditional Open Water swim - Sea of Galilee (Lake Kinneret) took place in Tiberius, with almost 8,000 participants in all categories. This swimming festival was divided into competitive and non-competitive races, allowing each participant to swim a major part of the largest lake in Israel. Fantastic open water swimmers,Daniel Katzir and Michael Dmitriev won the 1500m and 3000m races respectively.
The Israeli Swimming league opened this month with almost 60 teams that have one goal - to be the 2011 league Champion's at the end of the season in July.
The Israeli national team continues their preparations for the 14th European Short Course Swimming Championships, taking place in Eindhoven (NED) on November 25-28, 2010, with a training camp at the Olympic Village in Colorado Springs (USA). They will return to Israel early November.
