PR54 - Chinese youth excel in Tucson (USA)


The hot and dry city of Tucson, Ari. (USA) welcomed the very successful 18th edition of the FINA World Junior Diving Championships from September 1-6, 2010.

The team of China dominated the medal chart with six medals of each colour. The USA garnered a total of nine medals (three gold, four silvers and two bronze) while Mexico tallied a respectable four medals (one gold, two silver and one bronze). Other nations to medal in Tucson included Great Britain, Japan, Russia, Australia, Ukraine and Canada.

182 divers aged 16-20 from 29 countries (15 from Europe, six from the Americas, five from Asia, two from Oceania and one from Africa) took part in the competition, which featured 14 events (1m, 3m springboard individual and synchro, and 10m platform).
