Mexico successful at the Loano Synchro Cup
Mexico gained one silver and three bronze medals at the Loano Synchronised Swimming Cup. The event was part of the Mexican team’s preparation for the upcoming Central American and Caribbean Games in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.
Italy dominated the Team event competition, finishing first with 94.667 points. Brazil was second with 90.167 and Mexico third with 87.833.
In the Duet event, the Italians Giulia Lapi and Manila Flamini accumulated a total of 93.167 points, winning the gold. The Brazilian duo Nayara Figueira and Lara Teixeira took silver with a total of 89.833 points, while the Mexican pair Isabel Diosdado and Nuria Delgado, who will represent the colours of their country at the 2012 Olympic Games, claimed the bronze, totalling 86.667.
In the Solo, Brazil’s Giovana Stephan won with 89.000 points, while Mexico’s Nuria Diosdado finished second and Radvány Dora from Hungary third, with 85.500 and 78.500 respectively.
In the Combination event, Italy climbed the highest podium, with 94.500 points, Brazil finished second, scoring 89.833 points, and Mexico had to settle for third, with 88.167 points.
