Well-done job at OWS and Swimming clinic, Samoa (SAM)

Development News

A clinic for swimming and open water swimming for coaches, teachers and swimmers (beginner to advanced competitive swimming level) was held in Pago Pago, American Samoa Islands, on February 15-24, 2010. Three coaches, six teachers and 20 swimmers took part in the clinic given by Mr. Willem Sakovich, USA Swimming Coach in Hawai’i and former Coach of Northern Marianas Islands.

The clinic drew much interest from both coaches and teachers, who were very keen on gaining as much knowledge as possible from the USA Swimming Coach and showed great involvement in working with kids.

Six swimmers and two coaches were selected to train and compete in a 50m pool local meet in Apia, Samoa, where the kids offered good results in times. Altogether, the clinic generated a very positive outcome and there was much improvement in a short time.
